My friend Leslie recently started a great job as Marketing Director at a cool Silicon Valley start-up. On her first day the CEO sent out the typical email to the entire company announcing her arrival and welcoming her to the team.

Then it began. Within minutes she started getting LinkedIn requests from the other employees. Some came by or emailed first, but others just tossed the link requests over the wall.

I have mixed feelings about this. I have written in detail about my belief that LinkedIn is not a way to connect to anyone with a pulse, and profess the "Coffee, Meal, or Beer Rule" (which basically means I want to know you before we connect on LinkedIn or Facebook).

Right now, many parents are convinced that their children need to undergo intellectual potential evaluation. In spite of several protests from other critics, there are quite a few outstanding outcomes that were obtained. An individualized intelligence test can really help the parents to understand the potential of their child but this is not only applicable to children and their mothers. As a matter of fact, if you are a manager of a company, you can use this tactic to further enhance the capability of your team.

An intellectual potential evaluation is a good way to measure the intelligence of a person. Many firms are now involved in this which is often held yearly. In some cases, this test occurs whenever there are newly hired employees. In the hands of an expert, there is a huge chance that this can be a useful method for talent development. However, before you proceed, you should let your employees become acquainted with the idea since there are some that may not take this lightly or worse, they might be offended.
