You have just returned or intend to return to work after major surgery. Every part of you says that you cannot do a 40 hour work week. If you do not, you would have to face disability or be laid off options. In this economy that would be the worst ever.

You love your job and you love the people you work with. The job had been easy for you before the surgery, but with the slowdown in your movements and slow walking pace much has changed.

Many men take up engineering because they love the idea of designing large engineering works such as bridges, tunnels, railways, dams and many kinds of large buildings. It takes many years of study and when they are through they may find to their dismay that they cannot go out where all the action is but must stay inside where all the designing takes place.

This problem can be alleviated by getting into onsite engineering by taking up civil engineering work. When they do this they will find that many of their days can - and must- be spent out on the construction site managing the process of construction. While there will be times when they have to be in the construction site office, there are still plenty of opportunities to get out and about amongst all that heavy machinery and those building supplies.
